The East elevation faces the existing courthouse across the parking lot. The connection between the existing building and the new addition was designed with black granite. This means that the new limestone, which is a different color because it is newer, will not be in contact with the existing building. The large arched windows on the West elevation span over two floors of the courtrooms. The dormers were added for fresh air intake and exhaust from the building.
