The Veedersburg/Van Buren facility is unique in several ways. First, it was financed utilizing municipal bonds through an inter-local agreement between the town and township. The building not only includes the town and township fire station, but also the township offices, town offices, police offices, as well as a community room. The entrance into the community room is bricked with 100 year old pavers from the original Veedersburg brick foundry that no longer exist. The building is a basic steel free span (80ft.) structure with an 18 ft. eave height. The second floor, above the offices, will be utilized for future expansion and eventually full time fire and EMS services.

The building replaces three existing non-compliant buildings. The town was faced with a situation of what to do with the existing buildings. The most economical solution was to build a new facility for all town and township functions included to reduce short term and long term cost.
